How should I remove make-up if I have sensitive, fragile or dry skin?
1. Sensitive skin is fragile skin
Sensitive skin is irritated skin that reacts to the slightest external factor by becoming uncomfortable. As soon as skin is disturbed, redness can appear and skin texture may feel rough and uneven. Why? Because when this happens, the hydrolipidic film is impaired, leaving skin unprotected.
2. Gentle cleansing
Cleansing sensitive skin should be an extremely gentle process to avoid making it worse. Start by gently removing your make-up with a make-up remover designed for sensitive skin. Use products with a creamy texture, such as the Cleansing Milk, which you can use morning and/or evening, preferably using the Clarins professional anti-pollution cleansing method. The latter involves warming the lotion in the palms of your hands to bring it up to skin temperature, before gently laying your hands flat over your face (making sure not to apply too much pressure) and then quickly lifting them again, as if the skin was burning hot. Repeat this technique seven times. Rinse thoroughly or wipe clean with a tissue and finish off with a Toning Lotion designed for your skin type.
3. What next?
Once your skin is perfectly cleansed, apply a mild toner, preferably one with an alcohol-free formula. Try the Extra-Comfort Toning Lotion with Aloe Vera; its light gel texture should instantly feel good on the skin. End by moisturising your skin with the Gentle Day Cream for Sensitive Skin. This cream is perfect for nourishing vulnerable skin types while protecting them.
